Volunteers

Would you like to help us run the Street Choirs festival, have fun and meet other people?

50 choirs and 1,000 singers are coming from across the country, so we’re looking for a team of friendly volunteers to make sure that our visitors have a great time in Manchester.

The event runs from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th July 2019. Have a look around this website to see what will be happening over the weekend.

There will be a variety of volunteer roles including registration, guiding people round the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) and helping them to find the Massed Sing site and busking spots in the city centre. As well as the choirs, there will be performers and workshop leaders to look after and we’ll need help to run the Sunday lunch-time picnic.

Volunteers won’t necessarily be expected to be on duty for the whole weekend but we are looking for people who are able to commit to volunteering for at least two 3-5 hour shifts during the weekend. All our volunteers have to be over 18 years old and we will ask you to sign a Volunteer Agreement.

We’ll give you training at a training day on Sunday 7th July – the weekend before the Festival (although this is not compulsory for all roles), and we’ll supply you with a volunteer T-shirt and snack vouchers. We’re unable to cover travel expenses as standard but we will support anyone who needs to claim for travel costs so please don’t let this stop you from applying.

If you would like to join our team of volunteers then please fill out the application form below.

This asks for some basic details about yourself, your skills/abilities and the time you feel you are able to commit to the Street Choirs Festival. We look forward to hearing from you.

If you want to ask any questions before you complete this form, then please email us at volunteers@streetchoirs.org.

We do not expect you to have all these skills - we want to match you to a role that you'll enjoy.
