Your Festival Questions Answered

We have been getting a few questions from you lovely folk so here are some updates for you from the Street Choirs Festival Team

My registration failed due to PayPal issues. Now I can’t register. What do I do?
Don‘t worry. It’s easily fixed. The Brighton Street Choir Team will delete the information you have already submitted and you can start again. All of the deletions are done at the weekend so hold tight. They will email you when you can start again. You can also read through our guide to using PayPal.

I don’t have a PayPal account. How do I pay for my registration?
You can still pay using PayPal without an account. We have created a guide to help you.

I’m not online at all. How can I register for Street Choirs Festival?
Have a chat to friends in your choir and see if they can help you. All you need is access to a computer/smart phone or similar, access to the internet, an email address and a credit or debit card. There will be plenty of folk happy to help but if you are still struggling contact your choir rep and they can liaise with the Brighton Street Choir Team about alternative solutions. This year’s online registration process has been set up in response to feedback from other choirs and previous festivals. It’s quick and simple.

When will registration for the festival close?
Choir registration for this year’s festival will close on the 20th April 2018. Individual registration will continue after this date and will close sometime early in June. You will receive plenty of notice about when individual registration is closing.

Is there a phone number for the Festival?
Unfortunately not. The Brighton Street Choir Team members are volunteers, who mostly work full time and fit in work on the arrangements for this year’s festival work around family and other commitments. Have a look through the website and see if you can find the answer to your questions or talk to other choir members who have attended the festival in the past. We keep the website as up to date as possible and we also tweet regularly. If you still have questions, speak to your choir rep and they will know the best way to get in touch.

I can’t find the resources for the Massed Sing. Is it happening?
Yes, it absolutely is! The sheet music and instructions for the massed sing will be available to download from the website on the 20th April 2018. Keep an eye out for our announcements! Only folk who have registered to attend Street Choirs Festival will be able to download the resources.

I can’t see anything about the workshops. Are they happening?
They certainly will be happening. As usual there will be plenty of different workshops to choose from and the details about these will be released soon. You will be able to read about each of the workshops and this year you will be able to book online for the workshops you wish to attend. Only folk who have registered to attend Street Choirs Festival will be able to see workshop details and book their place online.

I have accessibility requirements. Will they be accounted for?
Yes! The Brighton Street Choir Team are busy auditing all of our venues, spaces and activities for accessibility. We will be in touch with those who indicated that they have accessibility requirements when they registered, to share specific information. We will also be updating the website with more detail as soon as we have it.

Will there be chairs available for people who can’t stand for too long?
Yes. We will be arranging chairs at the Dome, the Massed Sing and also working out which busking spots will be able to safely accommodate chairs. We will update the website with this information as soon as we can.

Where can I find out about accommodation options?
As well as homestay options we have compiled lots of details about accommodation options. Have a read through online.

Will the weather be good?
Of course! The sun always shines in Brighton!

Are there good places to eat in Brighton?
Brighton is full of great places to eat and drink. We will be sharing some of our favourites soon, so keep an eye out for our updates and recommendations.
